Words Of Guidance

“I urge, then, first of all, that requests, prayers, intercession and thanksgiving be made for everyone – for kings and all those in authority, that we may live peaceful and quiet lives in all godliness and holiness”. – 1 Timothy 2:1,2

This is not a suggestion, but a directive. Let us obey. Father, we go beyond party lines as we put all elected officials on the prayer line. In this moment, we pray for our President and every other official, their families and the people they represent. Bless them with health, wisdom and spiritual perception through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

God’s Love

” Their hearts were not loyal to him, they were not faithful to his covenant. Yet He was merciful; He forgave their iniquities and did not destroy them. Time after time he restrained his anger and did not stir up His full wrath. – Psalm 78:37,38.

Isn’t God good?. In spite of our failings, He is ready to forgive. But remember, He said, “My Spirit will not contend with man forever…..”. “Today; if you hear his voice, do not harden your hearts……..”

DETERMINATION TO LIVE A RIGHTEOUS LIFE – DAVID – MAN OF GOD – PART 1

Acts 13:22 – “After removing Saul, God made David their King. God testified concerning David: “I have found David son of Jesse a man after my own heart; he will do everything I want him to do”. David had to fight with moral infirmities and passion. He was often conquered and crushed but he got up with resolve in his heart and victory in his life.

The Integrity of His Heart

1 Kings 9:4 – ” As for you, if you walk before me in integrity of heart and uprightness, as David your father did, and do all I command and observe my decrees and laws”. God found integrity in David’s heart. Psalm 139:23,24 – ” Search me,O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts; see if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting”. David had an openness of heart in that he calls upon God to search and to make a minute survey of it. He submitted himself unconditionally to any form of examination.

Brokenness of Heart

Psalm 51:17 – ” The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise”. Self righteousness will never descend to immorality but reflects a heart of stone which is incapable of penitence. Only with brokenness and contrition can there be cleansing and forgiveness of sins.

Truthfulness of Heart

Psalm 15:1,2 – ” Lord, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill”?. Verse 2 – “He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, Who speaks the truth from his heart”. God cannot tolerate a lying heart in his presence. John 4:24 – “God is Spirit and his worshipers must worship in Spirit and in truth.”

The Maturity of Heart

David’s maturity of heart is seen in his walk, worship and witness. Psalm 101:2 – says, David was careful to lead a blameless life in his home and public life. His worship from Psalm 150 speaks of an intimacy with God, trust in God, putting his hope in God. Many worship their work;work at their play and play at their worship. David witnessed about God – Psalm 40:10 – to the people. He spoke of his experience of God’s deliverance and direction in his life and his devotion to God. Matt 12:34 – “Out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks”. David’s heart was filled with God and the things of God and so he expressed it in his praises to God in the book of Psalms.

Fidelity of Heart

Fidelity means faithfulness or devotion to duty. Allegiance means loyalty. The faithfulness or devotion to duty of David’s heart expressed his loyalty and obedience to God – Psalm 86:11. A divided heart can never be faithful. 1 Kings 15:5 -” David pursued the path of righteousness through his obedience to God.”

The Great Failure – Luke 12:16-21

The parable of the Rich Man

In Luke 12, Jesus told his disciples a parable: “The ground of a certain rich man produced a good crop. He thought to himself, what shall I do? I have no place to store my crops. Then he said, this is what I’ll do. I will tear down my barns and build bigger ones, and there I will store all my grain and my goods. And I ‘ll say to myself, you have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat; drink and be merry. But God said to him, you fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself”? This is how it will be with anyone who stores up things for himself but is not rich towards God.

No Recognition of God

The Rich man was in a prosperous condition. The ground brought forth plentiful. He was recognized in the world as a rich man. Then one day he asked himself a question, “What shall I do?” leaning upon his own understanding, he failed to diagnose his problem. There was a vision of lavish abundance. He was unconscious of the crisis to determine his eternal character. There was no recognition of God in his plans. He made the greatest miscalculation by deliberately voting God out of his life and business.

Absorbed in Self Gratification

He said to himself; you have plenty of good things laid up for many years. Take life easy; eat and be merry. He congratulated himself. He was self centered and absorbed in self gratification.

Terrible Awakening

God said to him, ” You fool! This very night your life will be demanded from you. Then who will get what you have prepared for yourself”. A fearful interruption and a terrible awakening. His soul was required that very night.

Self Centered

We have been warned repeatedly by the Word of God: he that lays up treasure for himself is not rich towards God. What will it profit a man if he gains the whole world but lose his own soul? We become self centered and not Christ centered. Philippians 2:21 – “They all look after their own interest not that of Christ”. 2 Tim 3:2-4, “Men will be lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God. Philippians 2:4- “Let each of you look not to his own interest – but also to the interest of others”. Acts 15:25-26, Many risk their lives for the sake of the gospel.

Listening and Doing – Living Out The Message – James 1:21-26

Scripture

James 1:21-26 – “Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent, and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you. Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says. Anyone who listens to the word but does not do what it says is like a man, who looks at his face in a mirror and. after looking at himself, goes away and immediately forgets what he looks like. But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it – he will be blessed in what he does. If anyone considers himself religious and yet does not keep a tight rein on his tongue, he deceives himself and his religion is worthless.”

Hearing without doing aborts a divine truth that denies the power of God. In bible times the experts of the law were meticulous as far as knowledge of the scripture was concerned. They had a form of religion but denied the power thereof – Luke 10:29. There is a vast difference between truths and facts. Facts become a life giving truth at the point of obedience.

Jesus Identifies Three Unreceptive Attitudes (Minds)

A) Closed Attitude (Mind)

When anyone hears the message about the kingdom and does not understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the seed sown along the path.

B) Superficial Attitude (Mind)

The one who received the seed that fell on rocky places is the man who hears the word and at once receives it with joy. But since he has no root, he lasts only a short time. When trouble or persecution comes because of the word, he quickly falls away.

C) Distracted Attitude (Mind)

The one who received the seed that fell among the thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this life and the deceitfulness of wealth choke it, making it unfruitful.

D) The Receptive Attitude (Mind)

But the one who received the seed that fell on good soil is the man who hears the word and understands it. He produces a crop, yielding a hundred, sixty or thirty times what was sown.

The Will Of God

To know the will of God is the greatest knowledge. To find the will of God is the greatest discovery. To do the will of God is the greatest achievement.

Potential and Power of Prayer – Matt 11:12

Warfare in the Spirit Realm

When the kingdom of God suffers violence “injury” – violence take by force – “from the days of John the Baptist; until now, the kingdom of heaven has been forcefully advancing, and forceful men lay hold of it”. Spiritual violence is the aggression in the spirit – it means to wrestle / resist to do warfare in the realm of the Spirit. You have to be born again to do this. It means to press forward with earnest request in prayer. In other words prayer application is urged when trouble comes.

Jesus agonizes in prayer

In the bible, the book of Luke 22:44 – “Jesus being in agony, prayed more earnestly or fervently. his sweat was as great drops of blood”. The word agony mean intense and prolonged pain – extreme distress in your communication with God. The word Fervent means zeal with passion. James 5:16 – “The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective”.

Satan Designs Battles

Satan designs battles to separate you from prayer and the Word of God. When he alienates you from prayer and the Word of God, Satan has succeeded to destroy your only effective defense. Satan has succeeded to remove prayer and the Word of God from Adam and Eve. This Christmas keep your focus on Jesus. Don’t lose your vision. Have a Blessed Christmas.

A Man Of Integrity

The bible says in Proverbs 20:7 – “A righteous man, who walks in his integrity, how blessed are his sons after him”. The word, integrity means complete, innocent, openness and morally whole with no hidden agendas. He who walks with integrity works righteousness.

By Products Of Integrity

A father who walks in integrity has a happy family. He lives under constant respect and fear of God. If a man who is in constant fear of being found out of his wrong doing, injects the whole family with suspicion and mistrust. The ultimate result of which, the entire family reaps unhappiness and joylessness.

He Works Righteousness

In the bible, Psalm 15:2 – “He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart”. Righteousness denotes justice, virtue, right behavior. He has ethical standards in his conduct. He speaks the truth in his heart. The truth comes from his heart and not from his mouth. Out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks.

From The Heart Flows Issues Of Life and Death.

The bible says in Proverbs 23:7 – “As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he”. Mark 7:21-23 says, from the heart proceeds evil – from the heart also flows issues of death and separation from God.From a good man’s heart proceeds treasures of blessings and prosperity.
